			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Immediately after the finals in Masters Event medals have been awarded to the winners from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Following the flag of ETBF all medalists marched in for their ceremony. Dieter Rechenberg, Director of Sports of German Bowling Federation (DBU) was the host of this medal ceremony.

Bronzemedals have been presented to Osku Palermaa (Finland) and Thomas Larsen (Denmark) by Joan Ricart, Vicepresident of FIQ.

Norway's Mads Sandbaekken has been awarded silver by Roland Mück, President of German Bowling Federation (DBU).

Gold to the new European Champion Martin Paulsson from Sweden. He received the special award of the Bavarian Minister of Education. Roni Ashkenazi, Tournament Director and member of the ETBF presidium presented the prizes.

Today's Farewell Banquet will close the 15th European Men Championships.]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Sweden's Martin Paulsson won the Masters title. he defeated Mads Sandbaekken from Norway in Masters Finals and only needed two games.

Both matches were more than thrilling. Martin Paulsson had a marginal lead up to 6th frame, but Mads Sandbaekken could tie the match in 7th and 8th. Scoring a double Paulsson won this game by 219 : 213.

Sandbaekken took the lead right from the start of second game. Both players struggled but then Paulsson - having an almost perfect last frame - forced Sandbaekken into a spare to tie the match. Lefthanded Norwegian failed to spare the 2-7 split and lost 177 : 179.

New European Champion in Masters Event Martin Paulsson will get his gold in today's ceremony.]]></content:encoded>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Both semifinals went into overtime. Sweden's Martin Paulsson and Norway's Mads Sandbaekken face each other in championship match of Masters Event.

Osku Palermaa (FIN) won first match clear cut 236 : 178 against Martin Paulsson (SWE), but lost in second 195 : 241. Paulsson took the lead in 3rd frame and ended 231 : 225.

Mads Sandbaekken (NOR) outdid Thomas Larsen (DEN) in first round 234 : 207, but had to admit defeat 177 : 216. Sandbaekken was in the lead from the beginning and won by 234 : 222.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Winners of quarterfinals will now face each other in semifinals of Masters Event.

Mads Sandbaekken (NOR) defeated Jerome Durupt (FRA) needing 3 games. He won the first one clear cut 257 : 176, lost in second 198 : 214. He always was in the lead in third and deciding roung and outdid the young Frenchman 231 : 199.

Thomas Larsen (DEN) as well had to go in overtime facing Karl Wahlgren (SWE). Final scores of those three matches: 237 : 207, 226 : 236, 237 : 212.

Mads Sandbaekken now has to compete against Thomas Larsen.

Osku Palermaa (FIN) and Martin Paulsson (SWE) only had go over two games and will face each other in semifinals.

Osku Palermaa defeated David Canady from Germany by a margin only - 224 : 205 and 225 : 211. Martin Paulsson ousted Joonas Jähi (FIN) 193 : 170 and 235 : 224.

Lineup of Masters Event Quarterfinals:

Osku Palermaa (FIN) - David Canady (GER)
Karl Wahlgren (SWE) - Thoma Larsen (DEN)
Martin Paulsson (SWE) - Joonas Jähi (FIN)

The Masters Event is performed on dual lane conditions, i.e. left lane is dressed with long oil and right lane is dressed with short oil. Those players who will win the two games will advance to the semifinals.

Dieter Rechenberg, Director of Sports of German Bowling Federation (DBU)  was the host of this medal ceremony. Medals have been awarded by Roland  Mück, President of German Bowling Federation (DBU), Joan Ricart, Vicepresident of FIQ and Roni Ashkenazi, Tournament Director and  member of the ETBF presidium. Medal Ceremony was staged immediately after titlematch between Denmark and Finland.

At first bronzemedals have been awarded to Team Sweden - Robert Andersson / Dennis Eklund / Karl Wahlgren / Martin Paulsson / Martin Larsen / Johan Hellden and Team Norway - Bjorn Einar Rudshagen / Pal Selvnes / Glenn Morten Pedersen / Mads Sandbaekken / Tore Torgersen / Svein Ake Ek.

Silver has been presented to Finland - Perttu Jussila / Joonas Jähi / Jari Ratia / Kimmo Lehtonen / Osku Palermaa / Petteri Salonen.

Both teams were even and tied up to 4th frame. Larsen fired a series of 6 consecutive strikes while Jussila only countered with 4. Finns struggled in the second half of the match and lost ground frame by frame. 

Denmark had a 30-pin-lead after penultimate round and could even increase it. In the end the Danes won by 1039 : 977.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Semifinals of team competition both have been performed on long oil pattern. Denmark defeated Norway and Finland won over Sweden. Third and fourth seeded teams face each other in title match.

Denmark took the lead against Norway right away, but could not really take advantage of it. In penultimate frame only Norway suffered two opens while Denmark spared. In the end Denmark - Larsen / Lousdal / Mortensen / Stampe / Agerbo / Ohrgaard - defeated Norway - Rudshagen / Selvnes / Pedersen / Sandbaekken / Torgersen / Ek 1017 : 963.

The Finns were in the game right away and had a comfortable lead over top seeded Swedes by 52 pins at halftime. Sweden could not make up lost ground and had to admit defeat. Finland - Jussila / Jähi / Ratia / Lehtonen / Palermaa / Salonen vs Sweden - Andersson / Eklund / Wahlgren / Paulsson / Larsen / Hellden - 1068 : 1007.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Immediately after last round of qualification in team competition medals in All Events have been awarded to the winners.

Dieter Rechenberg, Director of Sport of German Bowling Federation (DBU) was the host of this medal ceremony. Medals have been awarded by Roland Mück, President of German Bowling Federation (DBU), Onder Gurkan, member of the ETBF presidium and Roni Ashkenazi, Tournament Director and member of the ETBF presidium.

Norway's Mads Sandbaekken always was in the lead in All Events. In the end he won quite clear-cut totalling to 5316 / 221,50 and took the European Champions title. He was awarded gold and a special award of the Federal Minister of Interior.

His teammate and countryman Bjorn Einar Rudshagen came in second - 5269 / 219,54. He was awarded silver.
<div class="indent">Sweden's Robert Andersson ended third and received bronze. He just outdid 5242 / 218,42 no. 4-ranked Osku Palermaa (FIN) 5239 / 218,29.
